For the past year, I’ve journeyed with my little artsy-craftsy project, Heartily Handcrafted, with more than just making my art and craft pieces as a hobby or commissioned work. I was able to partner with fellow crafters, school org and most recently with a non-profit organization, Malaya Initiative.

They dub themselves as the “We are the Sketchbook of the people 🤟”. They are a youth-led non-profit organization that helps raise fund support for those in need through art. They partner with artists and craft stores that are willing to sell their artwork or products, where a portion of the profit will be donated to their beneficiaries.

Sketchbook for Siargao Campaign 🎨

They’ve invited me to be part of their partners for their upcoming campaign, which they call “Sketchbook for Siargao”. This campaign aims to raise funds to help farmers in Siargao buy high-yielding organic seeds. By the way, Siargao it’s an island in Mindanao and is known as the “Surfing Capital in the Philippines”, which I just realized while writing this journal 😆

I, myself, love plants and did also some planting and propagating in our little balcony. With those times, I remember the anxiousness if there will be sprouts and also the joys of seeing my baby seedlings 😃 I gladly accept the invite not only for the cause but also, I kind of relate to them. I would like our hardworking farmers to have that joy and confidence that their hard work will yield to something good and sustainable 🌱

You may follow Malaya Initiative’s activities on Instagram and Facebook. Here’s a snippet of their post of their current campaign:

Heartily Store for a Cause 💐

Their campaign’s selling period starts on November 6 until the 20th. The proceeds will be turned over to Lokallab, who is their partner beneficiary. Here’s a list of my art and craft items for sale, where 15% of the profit from the pieces sold will be donated:

I’m really glad to see how my little hobby project is achieving. Not only do I enjoy every bit of stitching or painting but also it’s fulfilling to know that I get to help those in need in my own little ways ✨

You are very much welcome to support Malaya Intitiative and Heartily Handcrafted. It will mean a lot to me and to them and our farmers. Take your time to browse my store and also the other partner artists and shops and enjoy seeing beautiful artworks! Maybe you can take home one 👍

Before you go, let my newly propagated baby Coleus, which I named “Colley”, wave goodbye to you! 👋🏻🌿 Take care and God bless always 😊💛
